New Coffee Flavors by Special Flavor Drops

!±8± New Coffee Flavors by Special Flavor Drops

Flavored Coffee is not a new trend and has been in the market from centuries. Nowadays, you will notice every coffee drinker has favorite flavor in their kitchen. Most of the basic flavored coffees are flavored with sugar, milk or cream. Very few people enjoy their coffee "truly black" because adding sugar or a bit of half can be considered "flavoring" the coffee.

Different cultures enjoy different flavors in their coffee. In Africa, it is flavored with salt or butter and western countries would find this flavor distasteful. The whole point is enjoying your coffee the way you want it, flavored or not. New flavors by different flavor drops are:

Gingerbread

Every morning, many people in America enjoy this flavor in their coffee. Gingerbread has combined flavors of molasses, ginger and cinnamon. The first time you would have tasted this flavor would be in a shop during winter. This flavor can be enjoyed during hot summer in the form of iced tea. After tasting it once, people would love to have this flavor again and again. You can enjoy this flavor by preparing gingerbread flavor yourself or by purchasing Gingerbread flavor and adding in Coffee.

Pina Colada

So you like Pina Colada? But its 9:00 in the morning.... So why not have a Pina Colada Coffee? Pina Colada flavor is a tropical favorite translated into a coffee flavor rich in coconut with a dash of pineapple.

Vanilla Custard

This custard is a must try for coffee lovers. The flavor blends really well together to bring out the aroma and fragrance of coffee.

Banana Split

Banana Split is an ice cream based dessert. It is served in a long dish called a boat. A banana is cut in two lengthwise and laid in the dish. Banana split is made with a flavoring that resembles the classic banana split above.

Some Typical South American Desserts

!±8± Some Typical South American Desserts

Perhaps you are a fan of Mexican food or you have a passion for traditional Mexican desserts like flan, dulce de leche cake, Mexican wedding cookies and more, but what about South American desserts and how do they compare?

If you have visited South America you might have sampled alfajor cookies, or alfajores. These are sandwich cookies which have a filling of dulce de leche. Dulce de leche is a sticky sweet caramel which is as popular in traditional Mexican desserts as in the cakes and cookies of South American countries. If you want to make your own alfajores, you could sandwich them together with jelly, peanut butter, jam, cream or even ice cream.

Fruity Mousse Recipes

Another popular South American treat is passion fruit mousse. The most common mousse flavor might be chocolate but passion fruit adds a delicious tang to mousse and fruit mousses are more common than chocolate mousse in most South American countries. This mousse can be eaten as it is or used to fill cakes or sandwich cookies together.

Actually there are a lot of tropical mousse flavors which are well loved throughout South America. These light, refreshing desserts are ideal when the weather is hot and when you want to cool down.

Savory Ingredients in Sweet Recipes

Picarones are donuts made with sweet potato and pumpkin. These would make a wonderful Halloween recipe and these delectable morsels are deep fried so they come out crispy and hot. Sweet potato and pumpkin are often used in savory dishes like soups or stews and picarones are not that sweet. They are, however, served with a spiced molasses syrup which is extremely sweet and sticky.

Brigadeiros are Brazilian fudge truffle balls which are usually served in paper cups. Brazilian coconut flan and alfajor cookies are also traditionally served in these little paper cups, as is the Peruvian candy called mana.

Mana is a bit like marzipan and you can color it and mold it into fruit shapes. Mana is made with sugar, milk and eggs and it was invented when the conquistadors came to South America. There were no almonds to make marzipan so they experimented with available ingredients and came up with mana instead. It is like fondant and can be rolled out and used to frost cakes.

Peruvian Recipe for Gingerbread

This gingerbread is easy to make and has a wonderful flavor. It is a popular snack in Peru and some other parts of South America. Serve it with whipped cream or by itself.

What you will need:
1/2 cup white sugar 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 egg 1/3 cup shortening 1 cup hot water 1 cup molasses 1 teaspoon ground ginger 2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon salt How to make it:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a nine by nine inch cake pan and sprinkle flour over it. Combine the baking soda, flour and spices. Mix the hot water and molasses together. Mix the sugar and shortening, then add the egg and mix again.

Add the molasses mixture and the dry ingredients to the shortening mixture and pour the gingerbread into the prepared cake pan. Bake the gingerbread for forty five minutes, and then let it cool in the pan for five minutes.

A Dash of Cinnamon, A Pinch of the Past, A Smidgen of the Future

!±8± A Dash of Cinnamon, A Pinch of the Past, A Smidgen of the Future

Close your eyes and remember December, the smell of cinnamon in your mother's or grandmother's kitchen and the warm scent of dough baking in the oven. Imagine opening the oven door and, with assistance, taking out the heated cookie sheet. Devour the cookies, small works of art, with your eyes: Fudge Brownies, Gingerbread, Nut Rolls, Painted Cookies, Sugar Cookies... With each bite, taste your childhood and family history. You can trace your blood and traditions not by DNA, genealogies and family heirlooms, but by recipes given from one generation to the next, like oral histories handed down in clans before recorded fact caught on.

Scholars once sniffed at "women's lore," but the notations of "1 dash nutmeg" and "1 cup chopped nuts," when handwritten on a yellowing page, are as important to memorize as the dates of the American Revolution. They are a tangible reminder of love, care and craft in any society, but particularly in America, where encouragement to eat bags of artificially sweetened store-bought Christmas sweets leave people sugar-craving, guilty, physically and emotionally empty Christmas cookies are the opposite of this trend. They represent home, family, comfort, joy, and tradition.

It's a miraculous event when generations gather around the stove to spend a day together, getting their hands dirty and sharing of themselves. It is miraculous because those memories are irreplaceable. It's miraculous because children get curious and ask, for example, "Why are the Christmas cookies German? What was Christmas like when you were my age? Did Santa Claus visit you?"

Mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather can share with children the family history and everyday moments in the past, such as, "Your grandmother made a mistake and measured one cup of walnuts when the recipe called for half a cup. But the cookies tasted better, so to this day we always use 1 cup of walnuts in the recipe." By reliving these rare glimpses of a life you may have forgotten, you honor and celebrate yourself as well as your family. Christmas cookies themselves transmit and record history and tradition.

In addition, Christmas cookies are a thread to Christmas past, not only our past, but long past. The word cookie came about thanks to Dutch settlers in North America during the 1700s to 1900s. Koek is Dutch for cake, so koekje, later cookie in English, means "little cake." Christmas cookies like German Springerle continue the custom of serving Christmas baked goods started by the Romans, Teutonic/Germanic tribes, and other pre-Christian civilizations. Christian religions sanctified these symbols of worship of the harvest gods by adding a "J" on the top to mark the breads as offerings to Jesus Christ. Ancient European peoples ate gingerbread at Winter Solstice feasts. When you bake gingerbread and Springerle, you're participating in a tradition that endures.

In that spirit, here is a recipe for successful cookie-making:

Start with 1 family, 1 kitchen, and a box of recipes. Add an uninterrupted period of time. Subtract phone calls, televisions, or any other distractions. For best results, add the Prayer Before Baking from CHRISTMAS COOKIES ARE FOR GIVING:

"God bless this mixture with the sweetest and tastiest ingredients: joy, faith, family, friendship, love, and health. Let the scent of this holiday offering rise to Heaven and make the angels sing, for the happiness of mankind is their feast. Let us taste our blessings with each bite as we share the company of our loved ones. Amen."

Sprinkle with laughter. Add amusing family stories with a lavish hand. Fold in 1 cup patience and understanding, blended with 1 gallon youthful enthusiasm and a pinch of baking know-how. Eat your mistakes with joy. Bake lovingly and well. Enjoy warm, delicious, Christmas miracle cookie-baking memories for years to come!

Birthday Cakes

!±8± Birthday Cakes

Birthdays are always special. It reveals the significance of our existence on this planet. Humans are the beautiful creation of God. So Birthdays are materialized by loved ones through celebrating them mischievously. Birthday without birthday cake is like honey without sweetness. Cakes are the exclusively baked, decorated, and intentionally added more glamorous flavors when it is meant for birthdays. Icing with different sweeteners, cherries, cashew, berries, cinnamon, apricot, pitas, nuts, chocolates and cream spread all over portray a lip smacking and mouth watering look. Birthday cakes are always been paid special attention of love and care.

While tracing the origin of Birthday Cakes many interesting facts come in front. The word 'Cake' is said to have coined as early as 13th century and it is said to have derived from 'kaka'- an Old Norse word. Some historians think that the custom of the birthday cake was observed in ancient Greece. Ancient Greeks began baking cakes using honey. Ancient Romans celebrated three different types of birthdays as well as different types of cakes. They primarily called them bread. Some in England used to call Birthday cakes as Pastries. Another tradition of Birthday cakes can be traced in the Middle Age Germany. There we find sweetened bread dough was made in the shape of the baby Jesus in swaddling clothes. In England birthday cakes are baked with symbolic objects inside. In Medieval Days objects such as coins and thimbles were mixed inside the batter. It was believed that the person who got the coin would be wealthy, while the unluckily finder of the thimble would never marry. Whereas today, small figures, fake coins, small candies are more in practice. Now a days even cup cakes are on the top list. Why it is round in shape in the very begging was a question. Scholars associate religious beliefs and technical compulsions for the same. Greeks offered round shape cake to the Goddess of Moon- Artemis as it signified moon. They started the tradition of placing candles on the cakes for glowing the cake like the moon.

There are various types of Birthday Cakes in terms of flavor and content. Birthday Cakes for kids are very special, because they are the people who worry the most about their cake's yummy taste. Most of the times young children like Chocolate and sweet strawberry flavor. Teen agers like whatever new in the city like Blueberry Pecan Streusel and Chocolate Espresso Cakes, Tiramisu Classico and Deep dark gingerbread. Grown ups like to indulge their tongue for Cheese flavors, Hot Chocolate Mousse Torte, wine flavored ones. Fruitcakes and Ginger cakes has a long cultural line too. Decorating birthday cakes with ribbons, flowers and edible ingredients add color to the presentation.

Writing the name of the birthday person right on the top of the cake in designed way and beautiful style is also a traditional way of wishing. Now a days, candles and ribbons and stars and flowers are styled in modern fashion. Europeans are called the precursors of modern birthday cakes. The icing of glossy ice like covering is no longer the hype. In stead of that now the jelly icing and colored cream icing is ruling the bakery industry. Actually whatever is the manner in producing a cake, no matter if it is a home made one or a professionally baked one, its all about baking it with the icing of the smoothest sugar and egg whites with lots of love, care, affection and tenderness for the person whose birthday party is taking place as along with the future eaters of the cake. So at the end of the birthday party it is the baker who is responsible the most for the delicious piece of cake for which everybody is eagerly awaited and relished then.
